Verstand Engineering, Inc. is looking for a designer to work in their Madison Heights, Michigan, location.
The candidate must have a working knowledge of mechanisms and 5-10 years work experience in design of mechanical assemblies, such as work holding fixtures, transfer bars, drill, mill, tap and boring heads and special part handling mechanisms.
Must have a working knowledge of strength or materials, metal processing and power transmission physics.
Must be SolidWorks trained with a minimum of three year's experience.

- Must enjoy problem solving and be capable of collaborating with a group leader on design solutions.
- Must be a good manager of ones time and have an accurate grasp of the time required to complete designs as concepted.
- Be prepared to mentor detailers by answering questions related to the function of the design, the tolerances to be applied, material to be specified and processing to be applied to the details of the design.
- Capable of selecting commercially available products to integrate into the design, rather than create special assemblies.
